Log in to the official E-Invoice portal
1Open https://einvoice1.gst.gov.in in your browser.
2Click Login, then enter your existing e-Invoice Username, Password, and the Captcha shown.
Important: Use your regular e-Invoice portal login for this — you're not creating a new tax account, just an API sub-login inside it.

Open API Registration → User Credentials
1In the left-hand menu, click API Registration.
2Click User Credentials, then Create API User.

Verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile
1Enter the 6-digit OTP received on the mobile number registered against this GSTIN.
2Click Verify OTP.

Select "Through GSP" and choose Whitebooks
1Select the Through GSP radio button.
2Under Select Your GSP, choose BVM IT Consulting Services India Private Limited — this is Whitebooks, the GSP ClayBill uses.
Important: Selecting any other name in this list will not work with ClayBill — it must be BVM IT Consulting Services India Private Limited.

Create your API username and password, and submit
1Choose a username and a strong password for this API login — this is separate from your normal portal login.
2Click Submit. The portal confirms your new API username immediately.
Important: The portal automatically prefixes whatever username you type with "API_" — e.g. if you type YourName, your real login username becomes API_YourName. Write down the full prefixed username and your password, then enter them (not your regular portal login) into ClayBill under Company Settings → E-Way Bill / E-Invoice Login. One login covers both e-way bill and e-invoice.
