Both are in the Reports menu.
Profit & Loss: choose a From and To date. The trading account shows net sales, opening stock, purchases, closing stock, cost of goods sold and gross profit. The Profit & Loss account below it adds indirect income, subtracts indirect expenses such as rent and salary, and ends with net profit or net loss. Sales and purchases are shown without GST.
Balance Sheet: shown as on the last day of the financial year you are viewing. Liabilities (capital, reserves, loans, what you owe suppliers, GST payable and the year's profit) are on the left and assets (fixed assets, closing stock, what customers owe you, cash and bank) on the right. Both sides should total the same.
